Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 September 2026
These terms cover your use of the Shiftpunch Android application, published by Hugo Software.
What Shiftpunch is
Shiftpunch is a personal work-hours tracker. You record when you start and finish work, how long your unpaid breaks were, and what your hourly rate and pay multipliers are. The app then adds those numbers up.
What Shiftpunch is not
Shiftpunch is not payroll software, and it is not legal, tax or financial advice. It has no connection to any employer, payroll provider, union or government body, and it does not know the labour law of your country.
Every figure it displays is an estimate calculated from values you entered yourself. Overtime, night, weekend and holiday multipliers are your own settings — the app never claims that a particular rate is the one you are legally owed. Country starting values, where the app offers them, are convenience defaults only and may be out of date or inapplicable to your contract.
Before relying on any number, check your employment contract and your payslip. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for any decision you make on the basis of it.
Your data
Shiftpunch stores everything on your device. There is no account and no server holding your records. See the Privacy Policy.
Backups are your responsibility. Uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or losing the device deletes your shifts permanently. The Pro backup feature exists so you can keep your own copy.
Subscriptions
Shiftpunch is free to download and free to use for tracking your hours. Some features are part of Shiftpunch Pro, sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play.
- The current price, billing period and any free-trial offer are shown in the app and on Google Play in your own currency before you confirm. Prices differ by country.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel a subscription in the Google Play app under Subscriptions — not inside Shiftpunch. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- If a free trial is offered and you cancel before it ends, you are not charged. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's policies.
If your subscription ends, your data stays on the device; the Pro features simply lock again.
Acceptable use
Use Shiftpunch lawfully. Do not attempt to decompile, tamper with, or circumvent the paid features of the app.
Availability and changes
We may update the app, and features may change or be removed. We may change these terms; the current version is always on this page with a new date at the top.
Liability
Shiftpunch is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app — including underpaid or disputed wages, lost records, or reliance on an estimate the app displayed. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
